How to make the perfect cup of coffee….According to a teenager

My 13 year old just recently picked up the hobby of starting his day off with a cup of coffee. While he’s gotten good at the process, he’s still a teen and they are sometimes not aware of the messes they make. Of course I just cleaned off the counters last night so it’s blatantly obvious to me when he’s made a cup of coffee. Sugar is everywhere!

I decided to have a little fun and show an exaggerated telling of the story of how a teen makes a cup of coffee with this video.

I didn’t quite know how I was going to do this. At first I thought I’d do a voiceover with this David Attenborough-esk accent but it just wasn’t working. I decided just to go with a text tutorial.

I originally thought to explain that 97% of the coffee grounds goes in the machine while 3% goes on the counter but then the funny thought came to mind to describe his actions as if he were paying tribute to the counter gods. I was happy with that. And it seemed to make people laugh.
